Contract with Ministry of Social Affairs in Cambodia

Dear friends,

I’m writing you from Siem Reap, Cambodia, a city of the interior, near the border with Thailand. We are here in our house that shelters girls. Rose came with me.

2008-05-03 Viagem Silvio e Rose Camboja 403 Yesterday (May 2), we were in the capital of Cambodia, Phnom Penh. There we had the joy of signing our contract/agreement with the Cambodian government. This contract is with the Ministry of Social Affairs, Veterans and Youth Rehabilitation. A shelter house had already been seen to and the contract was approved in less than a year, which is considered very quick by other organizations that work in the same area. Through Rosiane and Meena we had already signed a contract with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in August of 2008. This new contract is what approves our work of rescuing girls and makes this work legal. It also allows us three free Cambodian work visas.

God has confirmed everything about our coming here. In the first email where I asked for prayer for the trip, I said we doubted if we could come, due to various factors (I won’t cite them here.) But the girls in Nepal and the Brazilian team that works with us in Nepal agreed that this is a very important moment and we shouldn’t miss the chance or delay the signing of this agreement now. So, we decided to come, regardless of our circumstances. We were mainly thinking about the expenses of an unplanned trip to Cambodia. But after we decided we would come, the Lord, through, Pastor Jose of MCM who covers and coordinates the works here and in Nepal, supported us in all of this, paying all the expenses of our coming to Cambodia at this time.

The men of the Cambodian government asked us to extend our work into more provinces. They treated us like important people, as if we were great and strong. They didn’t know that we have weak hands, at times vacillating, that we are faltering, but that what brought us to this point is God’s blessing on us.

We are very happy. The word we have is, “Establish the work of our hands for us.” (Psalm 90:17)

Now the first little Cambodian and Vietnamese girls can be sheltered at the house and receive the love of God, food, school, and above all, HOPE.

Thank you for living this dream with us. Praise the Lord with us.

Thank you for supporting and praying for us.

You are welcome to participate in this work of rescuing girls, now in Cambodia, if God touches your heart.

Hugs,

Silvio – the family of the Apple of God’s Eyes Nepal and Cambodia, all the team that makes up this great family and all the girls that make up our Brazilian, Nepali and Cambodian family.
